Well, Week 7 is complete.!

Everything is coming together quickly now. I spent a few days going one step forward in some areas while I went two steps back in others, but in the end I completed what needed to be done.

I finished up my table with some amazing woodworking skills…

Looks fabulous, I know.

I finished sewing the tablecloth and put it on.

I really am pleased with how cute this came out. While the table won’t be seen much since it sits behind the sofa and backs up to the garden, the glimpses you will see will be gorgeous.

I could have thrown any old table back there and draped a cloth over it but despite it’s hidden location, I want it to be obvious that it is an intentional piece in the design. In fact, I chose a sectional over two sofas specifically because I wanted the look of a sofa table out here.

Building a Water Feature

That mini-project I keep mentioning? We built a fountain!

We worked really hard building the fountain this week so that the final week can be spent on the finishing touches and photographing the space.

The bricks on top are just holding the cap stones in place until the adhesive dries and the paver basin will get one more layer of bricks.

My husband is one of those people that love the sound of rushing water so this project was his baby. He worked tirelessly, digging the hole, hauling, cutting and fitting bricks, and leveling everything just right.

I’m sure he can’t wait to sit in our gazebo with a nightcap, listening to the water rush over the stones.

Lastly, I put our newly trimmed umbrella back up. It looks so cute with the bullion fringe on it and makes exactly the impact I was hoping for.

What’s Coming in Week 8

The only things left to do are the finishing bricks around the fountain, replanting my rosebush that had to be moved for the fountain work, cleaning, decorating with a few final accessories, and photographing.

I am so excited to put the before and after photos next to one another to see the dramatic difference. And it is dramatic!

My teenage son just said earlier, “Our backyard looks like a completely different place from last year. Good job, guys.” If you know teenage boys, that’s about the highest praise you can expect.

That’s it for this week! Keep your eye out for the big reveal photos coming next week!
